The bird language of crows can be heard from an incredibly long distance and their alarms are one of my favorite auditory cues that tell me about aerial predators at a distance.
I’ve used their vocalizations to find owls, hawks of many different types, turkey vultures, ospreys & various other crow-to-crow or crow-to-raven battles.
It’s always exciting to catch a scene of their aerial dogfights, so in this story I’m going to share an example of how I used crow alarms to spot a Bald Eagle from a ridiculously long distance.
