What People Are Saying…
I have taught hundreds of people the basics of Bird language and still I have seen very few reach the level of understanding that Brian achieved in the 2 years he was a student at Wilderness Awareness School.
Brian will be an excellent guide to help you get the most out of your hours spent listening to the birds.”
– Andy Franjevic, Senior Instructor for Youth & Adult Programs at wildernessawareness.org, Bird Language Staff Specialist for the Anake program
Brian was a student of mine at the Anake Outdoor School in 2010 and committed himself to studying and connecting to the natural world. I noticed Brian expand his capacity to perceive subtlety in the natural world as he followed his curiosity and passion with deciphering bird language.
I’m so glad to know that Brian is now paying his inspiring experiences forward with his mentoring work. Brian knows how to ask skilled and focused questions that help people go further on their own journey with nature connection.”
– Marcus Reynerson, Anake Program Coordinator at Wilderness Awareness School
Brian pursues his bird language studies with dedication and a constant willingness to learn. I love hearing his bird language stories, and am glad I got to see his start on this path in 2010. Even then I commented that he had great sensitivity, an affinity with wild creatures that yields great insights.
As a life-long learner of bird language, I feel inspired by Brian’s questions and adventures. His many hours of field experience can springboard you into listening more deeply than you thought possible. Listen, and join the growing community of bird-language learners worldwide!”

How Did I Get Here?
It’s True! I Wasn’t Always A Forest Ninja…
For the first few years of my studies, I had ZERO encounters with wildlife through bird language.
I would sit outside for hours watching & listening to birds, but every day I went home feeling utterly confused.
I started to wonder:
- Why can’t I understand what’s happening with the birds?
- Am I really this clueless?
- Why is my awareness so dull?
- Why am I so out of touch with nature?
I even started to wonder at times if I was perhaps a bit, “sensory disabled”.
Maybe my brain just couldn’t process all the data.
But I Loved The Idea of Finding Wildlife with Bird Language… I Kept Listening and Trying To Understand What the Birds Were Saying.
And then something incredible happened:
One day I heard this sound from a bird. It was an American Robin.
It sounded like a soft, “tut”
It wasn’t loud. It wasn’t even all that alarming. But it repeated about every 10 seconds… and it continued literally for hours.
Even though it wasn’t particularly loud or intense. It was just so darn unique that I had to investigate.
I walked over to where the sound was… and there in the field right next to that robin was the neighbour’s cat!
I was in shock. Surely that sound can’t be an alarm, could it?
I had to be 100% certain.
So I Proved to Myself That It Really Was An Alarm By Finding 11 Cats With Bird Language That Week!
I later used bird language to follow the alarms of countless owls, hawks, raccoons, coyotes, bobcats and a mama cougar with 3 kittens!
I had done it… and it felt amazing.
There’s no way to describe the feeling of confidence and clarity I have now about what’s happening around me in the forest.
When I go outside now my mind feels sharp, highly honed & refined.
Yet even more than opening the world of nature to me… bird language truly changed my life.
It transformed my every day into an exciting adventure of discovery in the natural world. And it awakened a passion to grow ever deeper and share this love for nature with others.
And I’d really LOVE to share it with YOU!

Yes, this course is excellent for beginners. It’s not necessary to have any prior knowledge about birds in order to confidently apply the lessons of bird language.
- What if I’m already an advanced birder? Will this course still help me?
Yes, bird watching is not the same as bird language. There’s very little overlap between the two. This course will take you beyond standard bird watching skills. This is a course about finding wild animals by observing the alarm activity of songbirds.
- I don’t live close to nature. Can I still learn bird language?
Yes! Bird language is everywhere. It’s the universal language of wildlife. It even works in the middle of big cities. You’ll be surprised how many birds & animals are living in the city.
- I don’t live in North America. Will bird language still work for me?
Yes, bird language works the same in every part of the world. A cat alarm in Africa will have the same alarm qualities as a cat alarm in North America.
- How much time does it take to learn the 5 step bird language blueprint?
